ELEVATED. UNDERSTATED
For a Summer birthday dinner party in Water Mill, Bloom Country approached the tablescape with a simple idea: create a table that felt celebratory and beautifully considered, without relying on an abundance of blooms. Specially, considering it was a male’s birthday.
Our lead floral designer at Bloom Country, Erika Garcia, took a restrained approach to the design, using garden greenery loosely throughout the table to bring natural texture and movement while allowing the setting, and the dinner itself, to breathe.
Candlelight became an essential part of the tablescape. Rather than adding more flowers to create impact, slender tapers, pillar candles, and votives were layered at varying heights along the length of the table. The repetition of glass and candlelight created dimension and a sense of abundance without overwhelming the setting.
As daylight gave way to evening, the candles transformed the atmosphere, bringing warmth and intimacy to the long summer table.
The result was understated, yet elevated.
A thoughtful approach to hosting in the Hamptons that proves a memorable table doesn’t need to be overflowing with flowers. Sometimes, the most impactful design comes from knowing what to add and what to leave out.
